Is this a good deal? I have a redwood slab i'm trying to cure before I start working on it. If I let it just sit around I have about 18 months before It's ready to work on. Would these dehu's speed up the process? Also, are they any good for flood work?

I paid $100 ea for 3 70 pint frigidaires brand new on sale.
I'd guess about $50 for a used 50 pint.

Being cedar live edge, I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if you get cracking. As a soft wood, it is VERY hard to control the dissipation of moisture. Great when you cut it in smaller pieces, but a thick slab can, and will crack....
I’ve got a slab of live edge exotic I’m curing myself...
I plan on making a stereo stand out of it, and am praying it doesn’t crack...
If you get wild swings in humidity, or temp, plan on it cracking....

Its not cedar. I’ll take care of the edge cracking by sealing it first.

I have one of those. They are the best cheap homeowner model. But not even in the same league as anything commercial.
