Anybody had to pull the handle off a Hoover Conquest C1800?

I'm trying to replace the cup assembly and I have to pull the handle off to do it. I'd wager King Arthur couldn't pull that handle from the bar. Anyone else ran into this problem and have any advice. All the screws are out of it. It just won't let go.

Thanks, I had already looked at that. I'm thinking hammer meet concrete, buy a new one afterwards.

In the end I took a hammer to it. I'm thinking a nice wooden handle might be a better replacement.
