Vortex exaust pipe between the exaust brake and the cat cracked off

Happens about five years ago. High heat and salt air kill the crappy metal.

I was making calls left and right trying to find a welder and parts while the whole time my new guy was taking care of it all...

There are heat-activated epoxy tapes that make a good field repair.

Any hardware store.
