Is there any reason that I should not move muffler under van?My muffler is 2 inches from oil filter and get really hot.An I have problem with it vapor locking.

If you are quieting a blower it takes TWO expansion chambers to break up a sine wave of sound...i use one AT the blower and then another one underneath...both SS of course!

It will reduce noise level if done properly.
Make sure you use 2.5" all-stainless silencer as Bob mentioned,
for less restriction and longer life.

I dont recall ever seeing a muffler on a van 2 inches from its oil filter. an exhaust pipe maybe.
