This has never happened before. I’ve had a few that were late on payment but nothing like the customers completely avoiding or replying to all my calls and texts.

Any of you guys going through the same frustration in this country’s season?

Yes I’m changing my company policy on payment before I open my truck’s doors on the Job

Ron Lippold would make a banner with "This person doesn't pay their bills" and park it out front their house.. He claimed he would get payment.. Then again, a Vortex was a big truck and is hard to miss.. :biggrin:

I assume your last comment regarding payment up front is borne out of frustration …

No reason to change your payment model over a couple scumbags

Honest people will wince if you tell them payment in advance

We haven’t been stiffed in over 15 years and it was a $185 sofa and chair cleaning for a new , unreferred customer

Said she was going to pay by debit card before we started , then presented the card and it said not activated

Job was on a Saturday, so I contacted her on Monday and she dodged the call and then the follow up

I let it go, not worth wasting time on a loser that was out to scam you from the jump. Not worth chasing in court cause they will fail to appear.

Speaking of “ dots vs. feathers”

Ours was of the

Ok, I agree on not wanting to piss off the repeat customers. But, what's your thoughts on the first time customer/new babymomma's and the 20ish year olds who are more attentive to FB message than a phone call?

2% will never let you down!!! {So only book them}
But if you're a gambling man book those 49% ? it's a crapshoot? you just never know🤷‍♂️
don't worry about the other51% they'll never call....

Personally, I like the 10%{They are the funnest 3% to 10%}

All commercial accounts, except for one ( over ten years old) have to pay on the same day of the services ( cash, Zelle, check ) I don't accept checks or CC from residential accounts ( I make exceptions only for a long time customers) Owners of the vacant properties pay in advance ( if not present) In case that owner wants to leave premises while Im still cleaning ( vacant or occupied) they have to post payment before leaving. I had one or two landlords taking me " hostage " for one or two days. I tolerate it because they provide a steady stream of work.
Feeling disrespected hurts more than financial loss 😔
When I have bad feeling about not getting paid( LSA custy mostly) I ask for payment ( in a respectful way) as I'm making progress but not quite finished with cleaning. I explain that to build trust, both parties should have their peace of mind with the outcome.
I guess I've been lucky so far.

As you guys grow your companies, you should enter the phase where you are not attracting dead beats that want free services

Only time I’ve been paid up front is for cleanings from out of State people that are paying on behalf of someone like an older family member

Receiving a check or credit card prior to starting does not ensure you of “getting paid” however especially if the individual is a thief…

Anyone can write a bad check or put a credit charge in dispute

Build your business to be repeat and referral based and try to screen out the unknown first timers
